The luxury of originality

At the Moserhof country estate in Carinthia, Jana and her family experience relaxation at the highest level. She is particularly fond of the unspoiled nature. The opportunity to experience nature up close and to be there live when food is produced and works of art are created from natural materials.

Jana has a different clock ticking at home. When she thinks about her everyday life, she talks about the hectic pace, deadlines and sensory overload. Despite the rural location of her home between Stuttgart and Ulm, there is a sense of restlessness. She is no stranger to tension and overwork. To break out of this routine, Jana goes on vacation with her family: "At Landgut Moserhof, the people are friendly and welcoming. Here, people still know how to enjoy the moment. Breathe in the scent of the Swiss stone pines and listen to the sound of the stream. And all without any media distractions."

A short break from a networked world

"The media are playing with fire. Of course, the new media also have their justification. However, constant accessibility and receiving information from the other side of the world is a test of endurance that begins in childhood. Knowing everything and being constantly available - a risk that affects us all and should make society think," Jana is convinced. But how can we regulate this desire? Jana is certain that the foundation must be laid in childhood. "The challenge in this day and age is to return to the simple things, to trust in simplicity. To focus on what the environment offers, the natural kick, so to speak. Especially for children, it is essential that they experience comprehensible stimuli and make their own experiences." Landgut Moserhof provides a counterbalance to this media world. Here you can look out of the window and watch the children playing by the pond.

Finding inspiration in new perspectives

When she arrives at her vacation destination, Jana enjoys a change of perspective. She is inspired by the things that happen at Landgut Moserhof. Every little detail in the chalets at the country estate is filled with passion. "It starts with the hosts, the food, the accommodation and the hot tub on the doorstep. All of this stands for more than just luxury. It is more than just accommodation. It's simply the whole package that makes a vacation here. The attention to detail. The people are already close to your heart, you know where you are going and, above all, who you will meet there. The host family is a big part of the vacation feeling. Just as the youngest members of the family can't imagine life without making friends with other children," says Jana without a doubt.

Genuine interest and appreciation

Although the children don't have a games console at home either and like to go out into nature to play instead, it is always a highlight for them to take a look behind the scenes of stable work with farmer Heinz. Pure active vacation. The entire vacation experience at Landgut Moserhof is interactive. Jana's eldest son is so enthusiastic that he wants to do his school internship at Landgut Moserhof next year to get to know the other side of the farm even better. Jana also likes to be inspired by Farmer Heinz's homemade works of art, which can be found around and on the farm. She is particularly impressed by the intricate wooden details that can be found all over the farm, as Heinz Hartweger creatively processes the natural product wood.

Consciousness in transition

Jana's family also openly discusses the less pleasant work on the farm. Her children are aware that animals are eaten and that there are many steps involved in processing meat. Eating meat is also something special for the children, as they know everything that goes into it. Jana herself, on the other hand, is a vegetarian. However, she is aware that there can be no circular economy without animals. "The soil receives nutrients from the animals' manure and the economic aspect must not be forgotten here either. When it comes to nutrition, you also have to ask yourself whether you want to completely avoid animal products and prefer to take vitamins in the form of synthetically produced tablets. People are what they eat. Of course, there is also a lot of suffering involved, because many things are already out of balance globally. Forests are being cleared to grow soy and end up with a cheap schnitzel. That's why it's still easier to see when an animal is kept and slaughtered respectfully," Jana is convinced. She is also convinced that awareness of these issues is already changing, but that much more needs to happen in the future in order to produce in a climate- and animal-friendly way worldwide.
